| ABOUT THE AUTHOR: | Know to only his family, select boyhood friends, and the government as "Aaron", A. David Lewis (born exactly 49 years after handsome actor George Peppard) is a Massachusetts native, raised and residing in the Boston suburb of Framingham until age 18. He attended Brandeis University, graduated manga cum laude with a B.A. in English & Psychology, and worked in the "ad game" until returning to school, namely Georgetown University's English Literature program. Simultaneously, though, A. Dave was building a résumé of both creative and academic comic book works, including articles in the International Journal of Comic Art (for which he is now on the Editorial Board), scholarly presentations on the comic book medium across the continent, and stories with small press publishers like Committed Comics and Silent Devil Productions. In 2002, he managed the hat trick of contributing to Alternative Comics' sensational 9-11: Emergency Relief trade paperback, gettings his Master's degree, and launching Mortal Coils with the help of Red Eye Press founder (and Valentine creator) Dan Cooney. The series debut went on to sell out as well as win one of the Cinescape Literary Genre Awards for 2003; A. Dave himself also landed a position at Georgetown in Washington DC and began teaching classes at both their campus and North Virginia Community College - Alexandria. Come 2005, he will be spearheading the Ever-Ending Battle research project and publishing The Lone and Level Sands with artist mpMann. A. Dave continues to teach, write, edit, self-publish, and craft shamelessly immodest bios about himself -- He resides in Arlington, VA with his harshest critic and loveliest muse. |
