I met Mike at a convention or two, and he couldn’t have been nicer. This was during his run with Mark Waid on Fantastic Four — I had previously roped Mark into scholarly discussion of his work, and I was hoping to do the same with Mike. In particular, I was interested in getting his viewpoint on drawing the “Hereafter” storyline where the Thing had just recently died and the team was storming Heaven to recover him.
If only we could do the same.
